WHY ARE THERE BIRDS IN MY DRYER VENT, AND EXTERNAL VENTS?
Birds love to make nests in cozy dryer vents, bathroom fan vents, hoodstove vents, especially in the winter!
Solution? The nest needs to be removed and the vent on the exterior inspected and/or changed. If these nests are present in a dryers or other ducts stop using them immediately and call a professional! Some nests can be 5 or more feet long and are a serious fire hazard in dryer duct/ vents and create health concerns in others.
HOW DID THAT BIRD EVEN GET IN THERE!?!?
All exterior vents are supposed to have a draft blocker on them to keep outside air from entering. These draft blockers get weathered and worn out, or stay open when a cleaning is needed.
